Going on a carnival cruise to Freeport and Nassau Bahamas in August. Any suggestions from people who have done any excursions here before? Not wanting to go for the most expensive ones.

If you are wanting to keep costs low, I think the two best options would be either a historic tour of the area or a tour of the Atlantis Resort. Both are fun and informtive. I like the Atlantis excursion because if you get a good driver to take you to the resort, they will also give you information as you pass by things. So it is kind of like getting both tours in one.
Then, once you get to the Atlantis, a guide will tell you a little about the resort, show you around and then you are left on your own. Your not allowed to use the pools or anything like that. But everything else you can use. You can shop, eat, go to the casino and the aquarium is also included.
Both options are inexpensive, but provide a lot for what you pay. It can pretty much use up most of your time on the island, unless you want to do shopping and such, in which case you just don't take quite as long.

I haven't been to Freeport. Nassau has dozens of cabbies offering tours of the island. I would take one of those. Freeport likely has a similar situation.
